Description: stk. 1942 1939 Ford Standard being the recipient of a full frame off restoration in 1998 and showing only 69,980 original miles on its odometer, it is amazing to see how beautifully crisp this car still appears to be. Only a worn spot on the original driver's side running board mat, a slightly dinged rear hubcap and some signs of its rear window glass delaminating, give away its original parts that were not replaced during this comprehensive restoration. The exterior was repainted to a very high Standard in its original garnet maroon and still presents itself beautifully in both depth of paint and luster some seventeen years later. Its stainless steel and chrome trim absolutely sparkles and is completely pit-free. Under its alligator style hood lays a 1948 239 cubic-inch flat-head v-8, which was rebuilt in 2012 and was mildly modified with the addition of an aluminum offenhauser intake manifold, mercury crankshaft, ceramic coated fenton headers and a full length stainless-steel exhaust system. It transmits its power through a three-speed manual transmission and factory style torque-tube rear axle. The interior is simple yet elegant; featuring a finely detailed faux-wood-trim dashboard with full instrumentation; including a pair of under-dash water temp gauges to track both cylinder heads thermal activity. A three-spoke banjo steering wheel, supportive cloth bench seats, optional armrests, vacuum operated wipers, an operational wind-up westclox timepiece and full cloth headliner complete this wonderfully finished interior. The undercarriage is fully detailed and literally mirrors the body's glossy coat in true rotisserie fashion. This is a wonderful opportunity to own one of Ford's most endearing and beautiful post-war body styles ever created. Call or visit our website at for more information.
