| Description: we purchased this fine 40 convertible from a private collection with the plan to take it to the next level. We just do not have time to give it the attention it deserves so we are offering it like it is. Not much is needed to be a show worthy car. It already is an excellent cruiser ready to have fun with but needs a few thing. You will notice that i did not show it with the top up. That is because the top needs to be replaced. It must be original because it looks and feels very old. The paint, body, trim, chrome, and glass are outstanding. The paint is especially nice and we have not even polished it yet. It runs and drives very good. You could tell it had been sitting up for a while because we had to tune it up to run properly. It is powered by a flathead v8 with a 3 speed manual transmission that shifts smoothly. Under the hood displays a rich patina that can only be had with decades of preservation. Cloth wire coverings, Ford hoses, vintage clamps, and dark green paint on the block can only be appreciated by true Ford enthusiast. Ford only offered a handful of options on the 40 Deluxe models and this one has most of them. It features an am radio, windshield mounted antenna, a clock, fender skirts, chrome hubcaps & trim rings, chrome bumpers with Ford script guards, and dual mirrors. The deep maroon interior upholstery and antique dash components also give a warm vintage feel. The fabrics are still very nice but there is a seam split on the front seat cushion. The chassis is clean and shows very well. The trunk is in excellent shape also and has a matching spare. Overall this car is very nice. Most anyone would be proud to own it and hey, it is a 40 convertible. By far one of the most collectible Fords of all time. We have sold several forties like this for over $60k so it is a good buy.
