| Description: stk. 1937 1941 Chevrolet special deluxe additional pictures coming soon. The first Chevrolet special deluxe was first introduced late in the 1941 model year as a four-door sedan. Due to world war ii, production had been halted indefinitely, though several thousand Chevrolet coupes and sedans were produced during the war years for military staff use. Civilian production had resumed in late 1945. Our striking special deluxe received a frame-off restoration some thirty years ago in the mid-eighties, and its glossy black body and fenders are amazingly straight, wave free and still presents itself well. Its stainless steel, cast and chrome trim are in marvelous condition. The bumpers feature factory optional "chrome tips" attached to the ends, along with an optional "rear center bumper guard". The original 16" wheels were replaced by 15" versions shod with p215/75 front and p235/75 rear tires; which along with factory style lever arm shocks, truly enhance this sedans ride quality and drivability. Additional enhancements were also made under the hood with the replacement of its factory 216 c.i.d. "blue flame" six and six volt charging system in lieu of a more powerful and modern 235 c.i.d. Engine and twelve volt system. Its original three-speed transmission was retained and transmits power very nicely to its original torque-tube style rear axle. The interior offered with the special deluxe will coddle you in comfort with its supportive cloth bench seats and optional armrests. Its cream and brown painted dash and door trim adds a certain warmth all their own and certainly reflects the art deco styling techniques of the day.
