| No rust, solid, solid, solid! Did i happen to mention that this sweetie is as solid as they come? This 1947 Ford Super Deluxe 8 convertible has been with the same owner for 60 years and only has 23,929 original miles!! This beauty was sold because the owner has parkinson's disease and can not finish restoring the car. I was told by his son that his dad purchased the car in 1952 in north carolina at a sheriff's sale where it had been impounded for running moonshine. It is under restoration and almost ready for the paint shop, so check back for updated pictures!! She has a later flat-head v8 engine with 3 speed manual transmission. The flathead engine runs great. There are a lot of new parts and a lot of extra parts with her!! New parts include hub caps, trim rings, wiring harness, weatherstripping, header bow, door sill weatherstripping, running boards, bob drake outside mirrors, bob drake rear fender splash shields (rubber), along with a pair of stainless splash shields and newly replated bumpers and bumper guards. Some options include spot light, fender skirts, front bumper grill guard, bumper guards, radio, heater, defroster, trim rings, clock and side mirrors. There were only 22,159 of these built and the base cost before adding options was $1,740. The only 47 Fords that cost more were the woodie wagons and the sportsman convertible. She was originally yellow however, the owner was going to paint her black. I like the yellow myself with red and ivory interior. Wouldn't that be beautiful? I have started restoring this beauty and have it about half painted now and have had the seats recovered in red and ivory leather. Won't that be beautiful? She is going to be a great looking car!! Don't let her get away. Give me a call so we can talk about how we can make my car yours.
