Gateway classic cars or st. Louis is proud to offer a handsome 1952 Ford Customline sedan. They sure don't make them like they used to, and this is the way they used to. This little gem is finished in a slick coat of black which may be the color these cars look best in. It sits on proper bias-ply white walls and 4 chrome hubcaps which were the style at the time. There's plenty of chrome to polish on this beauty, but this one is clean and ready as it sits. The car was restored in the early 1990s, but has only traveled about 3,500 miles since. It looks like a much more recent restoration as it has only been used to travel to and from car shows. Under the hood is the original 215 cid "mileage maker" inline 6. The engine was rebuilt at time of restoration and purrs like a kitten. Inline 6 cylinders are inherently balanced and notoriously smooth and this 215 is no exception. Backing the 6 is a 3 speed manual transmission which is shifted on the column. A nice feature of this car is the overdrive. When cruising at highway speed in 3rd gear, lift off the throttle and overdrive with engage. To switch overdrive off, push the pedal to the floor which will disengage the overdrive and leave you in 3rd gear. The interior is attractive gray cloth with seating for 5 comfortably. This is a great car to pile in the family and head out cruising for the day. Cars of the 1950s have a nice solid feel and really are a treat to drive.
