1953 Buick roadmaster Skylark convertible, pristine...$249,000 classic car marketing, inc. Is privileged to have just acquired an exquisite collection of rare and pristine motor cars offered for the first time to the public. This 1953 Buick roadmaster Skylark convertible was a limited edition model and one of 1,690 built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Buick. 1953 proved to be one of Buicks best, as changes were in store for the 1953 Buick roadmaster. The compact dimensions of the v-8 engine enabled Buick to fit the 1953 roadmaster to the shorter wheelbase of the super, though styling differences were relatively minor. The big news came with the introduction of a limited-production roadmaster convertible "Skylark". Offered as a limited edition convertible with only 1,690 units produced off of the roadmaster line, it is one of the most collectible Buicks still to this day. The '53 Skylark was full of first class and performance. The body was designed by harley earl and offered a look of no other. While there were no ventiports, the windshield was laid over, and the wheelwells were opened up considerably. A body-length strip swept from the front fender down to the front base of the rear wheelwell, then outlined the front of the wheelwell before ending at the taillights. Distinctive Skylark badges were located just ahead of the rear wheelwells. The leather interior was exquisite with ribbed inserts and numerous other luxury features made this car a superior automotive experience. Kelsey-hayes wire wheels completed the look. The Skylark also was the first Buick to showcase its new engine, a 322 cid v8 rated at 188 hp which made the new engine 11 percent more powerful. Buick also introduced a new "twin-turbine" dynaflow as a companion for the v8 engine. Estimated to increase torque at the wheels by 10 percent, the new transmission provided faster and quieter acceleration at reduced engine speeds. Power steering and power brakes were standard. Air conditioning was a new option and, years before many other makes, a 12 volt electrical system was adopted. Our client performed an extensive restoration on this white with red interior roadmaster, and the car is finished to perfection. Offered at $249,500 obo this is an investment quality automobile. This is an opportunity to own one of the best examples of a 1953 Buick Skylark roadmaster from truly a collection of perfection. For more information please visit our website at or call us at .
