Description: this big, comfy Buick is an excellent example of an Electra 225; also called a ''deuce-and-a-quarter''. This car was produced in flint, michigan and was one of a fairly small number of this particular model produced; approximately 6360 electra convertibles were produced in 1963. The plushest, top of the line Buick models were restyled in 1963; this included the electra. The styling included nearly straight-cut fenders, horizontal taillights, bright metal sideskirts and wheel-well liners, cast metal bright grille, 'Electra 225' badges on the rear fenders, and four porti-vents on the front fenders. The interior received a number of options as well; front bucket seats, padded dashboard, a storage compartment in the center console, heater, defroster, glare-proof rear view mirror, courtesy lights, and power windows. This car is in very nice condition; the interior shows very well with most knobs and switches where they should be, leather looks good. The exterior of the car looks very good with what looks to be original chrome, seals and lights are all in good condition, this car left the factory in turqoise, but the red paint looks very nice. Lift the hood of this car and you will find a wildcat 445 engine. The 445 was not the cubic inch displacement of the engine, but the foot pounds of torque produced by the engine. The engines in the electras were called the nailhead. This car is a great example of one of the luxury, top of the line Buicks of the '60's! Price: $23,500 |
