Description: a former asi (automotoclub storico italiano) certified car, our '64 Alfa Romeo Giulia sprint gt lived in italy for almost 40 years until it was moved to the netherlands in the early 2000's. From then on the car lived near utrecht and was maintained to a high standard. In the summer of 2013 the car joined our personal collection after being shipped to the us. It's a fantastic example of the increasingly rare early 105 series coupes. Largely original and in excellent driving condition, this sprint gt has been a joy to own. Records from its time in holland indicate a refurbished radiator and suspension among other completed work. Once in our possession, the car has been maintained at euro tec in livingston, nj. Initially, the focus was on the dunlop brakes, as the car received a new brake booster and rear brake cylinder. A myriad of other small fixes were completed, and the front seats have been re-stuffed with new fabric inserts. The 1.6 liter engine runs well and makes a great noise along with its twin weber carbs. One of the carbs has a broken screw, though fortunately it broke in the right place and hasn't affected the tuning process. The five-speed gearbox is in great shape, including the vulnerable second gear synchro, and is complemented by a strong clutch. A recent participant in the aroc fall tour, the car drove over 180 miles without any major problems, though there was a fouled spark plug on the ride home. Four new ngk spark plugs have since resolved this issue. The car received a respray some time ago, and while it does display plenty of patina everything remains presentable. Notably, there are some paint pen touch ups on the hood and an area of imperfections on the passenger door. The original verde muschio paint is still visible in the engine bay, and seems to match up well with the current color. Overall, the body is straight and solid, though some small areas of bubbling behind the front wheels and slight surface corrosion under the rear window seal are evident. Underneath, the floors, spare tire well, and rockers are all in good condition, though at some point it looks like a jack stand may have caused a minor dent on the right rocker. Inside, the original vinyl and carpets look great, as do the aforementioned replacement fabric inserts. The rear bench is original and in very good condition, as is the headliner. Wearing its original gray crackle finish, the dash does show some minor splits, while the dash top has a crack on the passenger side. All the veglia instruments are intact and work well, complemented by a hellebore wood-rimmed steering wheel that has been swapped in along with a matching shift knob. The car's original black lacquer shift knob is included as well. In the trunk the original tool kit and liner are present, though part of the lining has separated along the rear. Outside, the car has the seven bar front grill and the two-piece front/three piece rear bumper off a contemporary gtv. The small bertone side badges are not on the car, but easily sourced via alfaholics or other alfa parts shops. The odometer reads 87,125 kilometers (54,137 miles, exceeds mechanical limits). This vehicle has already been imported and is available immediately with a transferrable registration in hand. All vehicle sales subject to mid-century motoring's purchase agreement.
