Stk 1984 1965 Jaguar S-Type the autobarn is proud to present this beautifully restored 1965 Jaguar 3.8 S-Type right-hand drive saloon. It was originally sold in december of 1964 by shaw and kilburn in st. Johns wood, london to a british naval commander who drove it for several years before being placed in storage. It slept for some twenty years before it was discovered and restored, then pressed into service as a chauffer and wedding car. The previous owner discovered the car for sale, purchased it and then had it shipped from england. Under the bonnet resides the original 3.8 l in-line, double overhead cam power plant #7b 54614-8 driving a gm 700r4 four-speed e.o.d. Transmission; which was chosen as an upgrade to the original borg-warner three-speed unit. The original independent rear-axle is still present; and together with a pertronix electronic ignition system, allow the car to be driven comfortably at modern highway speeds with ease. Its opalescent silver grey coachwork presents itself beautifully as does its trim and chromed knock-off wire wheels. The stylish and timeless exterior lines are more than complimented by a cabin trimmed in lush red leather and stunning walnut wood appointments throughout. Power rack and pinion steering, power four-wheel disc brakes and am/fm radio are standard equipment; that along with an environment like this make it a joy to drive. This jag comes complete with a Jaguar daimler heritage trust certificate accompanied by the original owners and service manuals and parts documentation.
