According to its factory trim tag it was produced in atlanta, georgia with a production date of 10d; october, fourth week, and based on its w2lsr and 5yl designations, came factory equipped with these options; (w) tinted windshield, (l) four- speed transmission, wide-ratio, (s) rear antenna, (r) rear seat speaker, and (y) custom front and rear seat belts with front retractors. Originally leaving atlanta as an (m) aztec bronze model, this car was reshot in 2006 in this current vibrant hue of red. Its broad hood, rear deck and sculpted rear fenders are all amazingly straight and are difficult to find in this condition. The real delight was in finding that this 325 horsepower, (l35) 396 nestled under the hood was indeed the original motor, as indicated by its to925ia and 6a110978 engine pad stamp. Its 3855961 engine casting number also confirms it as a date correct two-bolt block. The same mileage on the chassis is also believed to be the original mileage on the motor. Somewhere along the way however it has had some power adders in the way of an edelbrock performer aluminum intake manifold along with a 600cfm holley carburetor, ceramic-coated hedman headers and a pair of flowmaster mufflers. Backing up this 410 lb/ft torque-monster is the original 3885010 code m20, wide-ratio four-speed transmission driving an original dd code dana twelve bolt rear with a 3.31 final drive. The (815b) black vinyl bucket-seat interior in this Caprice is visually striking and is believed to be original to the car. It features a factory console with full instrumentation along with optional (w2) tinted windshield, (s) rear antenna, (r) rear speaker and (y) custom seat belts with front seat retractors. The undercarriage upon close inspection reveals a very solid and rust-free foundation and certainly underscores the validity of the 61,278 miles currently registered on its odometer.
