| Description: stk. 1947 1966 Pontiac Bonneville convertible back in 1959, the Pontiac engineers came up with the 'wide track' suspension concept. They were working to dramatically improve the handling of their full size models. The Bonneville was a relatively new model back then, having debuted in 1957, but was the crown jewel of the Pontiac division. In various configurations, it was part of the product line through model year 2005. This 1966 Bonneville is a perfect example of the 'wide track' design. This beautiful convertible has only 26,490 original miles and is a matching numbers car. It is a 2-owner vehicle that has been with its current owner for past 12 years. Bonnie received a total re-spray of original barrier blue paint in 2012. The original white power convertible top and matching white vinyl interior are all still in very good condition. This 4,000 lb convertible is over 22' long and almost 80" wide. Fortunately, from a performance standpoint, being this large is not a problem. There is an icon under the hood - the venerable 389 cid Pontiac engine. This motor was the mainstay in the full-sized Pontiac line for many, many years. It was also the 'go' in gto. The 1966 version of this engine produced 333hp and a whopping 429lb/ft of torque. Our Pontiac's engine is completely original except for an upgrade to the 4-barrel carburetor. It is backed by Pontiac's 3-speed hydro-matic transmission. The Bonneville is also equipped with an am/fm/cd after-market stereo, tinted windows, power steering and power drum brakes. The car is currently sporting oversize custom spoke wheels, but the owner has the original 14" wheels and fender skirts. He also has the factory original carburetor.
