Description: living in italy before moving to the netherlands several years ago, this '68 Alfa Romeo Giulia 1300ti is a very well maintained and original example. Finished in dutch blue with a gray cloth/black vinyl interior (known as panno e finta pelle grigio marezzato, or marble gray), the archives indicate the car was first sold in monza, italy during september of 1968. Its touring club italiano stickers on the rear window indicate membership during the mid 1980's, a nice memento of the cars history. Recently serviced at euro tec in livingston, nj, the car is in fantastic mechanical condition, a strong driver that recently completed several 50 mile journeys without any issues. The correct 1300 twin cam engine and single downdraft carb are eager to please and sound even better than larger displacement alfas of the era, a low burble culminating in a screaming rasp that belies its modest size. The five-speed box shifts well with no synchro issues and is complemented by a solid clutch, while the ate disc brakes and sporty suspension all perform very well. The car holds temperature consistently and is not a smoker, though it does have a minor, intermittent oil leak underneath. The previous owner claims the paint is original everywhere except the hood, which was given a high-quality respray due to stone chips. The car is in excellent condition throughout, the only noteworthy blemish being a small dent/scuff mark on the passenger door. The wheels are in good shape too, with nice chrome caps and presentable silver paint, while all badges, grill pieces, and bumpers appear correct and with just the right level of patina. Most likely a part off of a later car, the side mirror is the only non-original trim piece. Underneath, the car is straight and solid, though there is a small patch of surface corrosion in front of the left rear jack point. The spare wheel well is in good condition, however in the right rear corner of the trunk floor a small patch of rust is evident. The rest of the trunk looks to have benefitted from rustproofing along the seams and around the gas tank. Inside, the 1300ti has all the right original trim, down to the embossed alfa rubber floor mats. With flawless veneers, a perfect dash top, and the gorgeous black lacquer steering wheel, the car makes the most out of its airy, light-filled cabin. There is also a beautiful, period autovox radio, not currently connected but seemingly complete (the telescoping antenna remains installed out back). The driver's seat has some splits in the cloth upholstery, though the passenger's seat and rear bench look pristine without any damage. The jaeger gauges and all electronic accessories are in good working order, and the odometer reads 93,717 kilometers (58,233 miles). As it's only a five-digit display, this may exceed its mechanical limits, though given the condition of the car it seems unlikely to have rolled over. This vehicle has already been imported and is immediately available with a transferrable registration in hand. All vehicle sales subject to mid-century motoring's purchase agreement.
