All vehicle trades considered, including classics and performance. Here is really a nice v8 Mustang. As one of the most popular years of classic Mustangs, this 1968 model has only 55k documented miles. It runs as good as it looks thanks to a lifetime of careful maintenance combined with a recent restoration. This car has had only three owners, starting on 4-29-68 when the first owner purchased it in lansing, mi. He traded in his 1962 buick lesabre, receiving $375 against the purchase price of $2,875 (list price of $3,273). He then proceeded to neatly and comprehensively document the car's history in a wonderful handwritten log. This included items both small (fuel, wax, oil changes) and large (engine work, brakes, rustproofing) along with a partial restoration in october 1987. On 9-11-90 he made his last entry at 40,163 miles. The car then went to his son who rarely drove the car but continued the same log until it was sold to the third owner on 5-27-05 with 42,149 miles. That's when the restoration work started, involving lots of time and money. The last owner used his skill and contacts as a body shop owner to bring the car to its present state. To begin, the engine and transmission were rebuilt and new floor pans and front torque boxes installed in 2005. It received a new suspension and new brakes in 2007. The interior was redone (changing from gold to parchment) and the body cleaned up and completely repainted (changing from gold to red) in 2009-2010. The power steering was redone and the sharp magnum wheels and bf goodrich tires were installed in 2012. These are just the highlights of everything that has been done. This car retains its original c-code 289 ci engine, which is essentially stock except for an electronic ignition and hardened valve seats. It is backed by a c4 automatic transmission and 8" rear end with 2.79 gears, which are nice on the highway. The car is very easy to drive with its power steering and power front disc brakes. There is a nice retrosound stereo (original radio is included). Everything works; horn, wipers, hood turn signals, hazards, etc. The original owner had a mark iv air conditioning system installed on 1-25-69 (receipt included, note the original mark iv decal in the rear window). This system was changed to a classic auto air setup in 2010 with a modern sanden compressor and r134a refrigerant. I think this Mustang is an excellent find. Not only is it a beautiful, high quality car with nice features, but it also has low original miles and a remarkable documented history (including a large stack of receipts and the original owners manual with dealer stamp). And you couldn't duplicate this car for near the asking price, making this classic a very nice deal as well.
