For sale in our chicago showroom is a 1972 Chevrolet Nova. The 1972 Nova received only minor trim changes. Nova production moved to norwood, ohio, where it would be assembled alongside the camaro. Despite the lack of change, Nova had its best sales season in years, with production of the 1972 models reaching 349,733. Of these, 139,769 had the six-cylinder engine. This particular Nova was assembled in the willow run, mi plant. It was originally powered by a 250 cid six-cylinder. Now look under the hood of this beauty and see what makes all that noise when you start her up. No more six-cylinder. This brand new 383 stroker is putting out 500 horses. This engine was a professionally prepped 350 cid block that was purchased as a prebuilt custom long block from performance chevy. The 383 four bolt one piece bare block is internally balanced and was thermo cleaned, magnafluxed, clearanced for stroker, bored and square decked 90 degrees off the main bearings, align honed to size on a cv 616 sunnen hone. The following parts have been installed: edelbrock e-street aluminum heads with 185 cc intake runners, high performance head bolts, eagle specialty products co cast steel stroker crankshaft with 3.750 stroke, Chevrolet zz4 pm performance connecting rods, speed pro hypereutectic pistons with moly rings, comp hp hydraulic-roller camshaft with hydraulic lifters and full roller rockers, edelbrock performance-link true roller timing chain set with new timing case cover, kooks headers, new degreed harmonic balancer, a holley 650 cfm 4150 double pumper carburetor with electric choke, new flexplate, all bearings are new (mains, rod, and cam), brass freeze plugs, fel pro gaskets and seals, and a new oil pan. Keeping this beast cool is an electric cooling fan, and an aluminum radiator. This engine is completed with chrome or polished items like: air cleaner, valve covers, and intake manifold. The exhaust manifolds have been detailed with a rust-resistant coating. The engine is balanced, blueprinted and professionally assembled. All of this power is backed by a turbo hydramatic 400 automatic transmission which pushes it through an aluminum driveshaft capable of 1000 hp. It is then routed through a positraction rear end with 3.42 gears. While looking back there, dont miss the longwood traction bar and sub-frame connectors. The exterior began with a solid original rust-free body. The bodywork and paint has been professionally done. The engine compartment is also in excellent condition. The steel body is straight and true with no waviness in an panel. The doors, hood, and trunk lid have much better-than-factory gaps. The hood is a cowl-induction style. The exterior paint has an extremely high gloss, two-tone blue and silver. Both the front and rear bumpers have been modified to eliminate all exposed bumper bolts and then painted to match the lower body silver color. All the stainless trim, door handles, and rear view mirror are new and pit-free with no dents or scratches. The underside of this Nova is just as clean as the exterior, and has been cleaned and painted in a semi-gloss black paint. The floor pans are clean and detailed in the same semi-gloss paint. Also underneath you will see the dual 3 inch exhaust of a flowmaster 40 series delta flow mufflers. Stopping this street machine isnt a problem thanks to front disc brakes that have been freshly replaced with new rotors, pads, and all brake lines. The five spoke aluminum wheels are painted black and polished. The fronts are wrapped in sunny brand 245/35 zr 19 and the rears are wrapped in toyo drags 295/35 zr 19. Its now to pour yourself into one of the front leather bucket racing seats. These high-backed bucket seats have a built-in headrest. The center console and rear seat are also covered in black leather. The door panels have been newly recovered, the headliner and carpeting are all new as well. Grab a hold of the new leather wrapped steering wheel and shift the b&m chrome shifter into gear. Nothing was overlooked in this interior, whether it be the new door handles and window cranks or the original gauge and controls that are easy-to-read with clear lenses and bright faces.
